Aureus Imperium
Since festive seasons are here we have to hurry and find the perfect dress and a makeup look to go with it! Whenever I think about Christmas or New Year, gold is the color that pops in my mind. Maybe it's the champagne bottle cap or the fireworks, I just love to see gold makeup at night, not to say it is a glamorous color!
Aureus Imperium as known as "The Golden Rule", is the Latin expression that defines best this look!
To start off I used the Elf Jumbo Stick in French Lace all over the lid emphasizing the inner corner. The eyeshadows are from Storm palette, by Sleek and on top of French Lace is the champagne shimmery color followed by the goldish & the brown with red sparkles all over the crease and bottom lash line. I finished the look applying mascara but if you enjoy wearing fake eyelashes go for them!

As far as I know holidays are close and it's always nice to have a hint of inspiration for some looks to wear on Christmas Eve or even New Year's!
A hint of Autumn is given with a cranberry color and a light skin tone shade brightens up the entire look making it wearable for day/night.
Kiko 020 Adictive Song palette made the honors with the stunning reddish shade and for the skin tone color a matte shadow from ELF did the job. Giving a more glamorous finish the Kiko Precision Eyeliner left a (not so straight) line combined with Essence Lash Princess mascara for great lashes.
Lastly a nude eyeliner made its way to my waterline for a subtle look, if you like more black just use black! Goes well with everything!
Do you prefer matte or shimmery looks for the holidays?

Eyes are my favorite part to work with when it takes to makeup and bases are, of course, a must! Oily eyelids and watery eyes are not the best canvas but with some tricks we can make them work.
Essence I Heart Stage Eyeshadow Base - ~3€
Catrice Prime And Fine Eyeshadow Base - ~5€
Eyes Lips Face (E.L.F.) Eyeshadow base - ~1,50€
Essence I Heart Stage eyeshadow base was my first one and I initially hated it since I didn't see any difference but I just think I wasn't applying it the right way. Once I heard eyeshadow base works like some kind of art, less is more and when I followed that tip it worked pretty well on me. I love the texture and how opaque it can be. It definitely doesn't make my eyeshadows waterproof but prolongs the time of wear. I recommend it if you don't have super oily lids or super watery eyes like I do!
The Catrice Prime and Fine eyeshadow base is a cream texture in a pot but I find it too drying and patchy, it doesn't blend easily for any means and I don't think it does something good for me. I can tell you it is the one I use the least. Maybe I'm doing it wrong but I can't find a way to work with it.
ELF eyeshadow base is so raved on blogosphere that I had to put my hands on it but with all my honesty I didn't find it amazing. It's an eyeshadow base, the texture and the long-wear power is fine. I use it a lot and like it but it's not a staple in my makeup.
From the 3 it is clear that Essence is a winner but still haven't found one that truly wins my heart! Any suggestions?

There are things we love to death and others we don't have an opinion formed.
Here it is, one of my smallest collection: lipglosses!
For the amount of products I have you assume I'm not a huge fan of these little friends, and you're so right!
l-r: ELF LipStain in Fashionista ; Douglas (nameless) ; Avon Colortrend in Berry Fizz
There are plenty of reasons to not like lipglosses and I could write a testament just to tell them all. But not going too further I'm just going to say what I think in general..
Well, lipglosses are supposed to make your lips look shinier or if not I don't know why's the wet thing going on. First of all I'm not a huge fan of sparkles, and truth be said I'm more of a matte lips girl!
My first lipgloss was the middle one, a present from my mom one of the past Christmas, which I'm very thankful for and being as honest as possible I quite like it! It's not sticky, it stays well, the color pay-off is good but... and here comes the but.. I don't reach for it many times.. nor this nor any other I have. I just never feel like using something shiny and attention seeker on my lips.
To the first of them all, I've never ever used the gloss part! I love the stain itself, it's gorgeous, the lasting power is amazing and everything but the gloss is not my thing. You already go it right?!
Avon... one of my favorite lip brands and once again I was enchanted by the color and decided to give it a try. And once again I used it 2 or 3 times! I suck I know.. But the good part is that I only have 3 so I haven't spent loads of money on a thing I won't use! *claps*
Here's the swatches!
l-r: Avon ; Douglas ; ELF
As you can see the color pay-off is really good and they look lovely on lips, it's just my paranoia! If you like glosses you shall try them since they're good products and affordable too!
I guess I'll continue to spend money on lipsticks and leave the shinny bottles for their lovers!

Brush Collection
Good evening my little mushrooms!!
Brushes are the most handy tools in the world! We use them to paint canvas, to clean and to make our makeup routine easier!
Todays post is about my makeup brush collection.. i'll show you them in detail bellow..
Let me just clear you something.. you don't need this much brushes.. you're fine with a powder and eyeshadow brush! I just enjoy applying makeup with brushes and i find that sometimes i need some more since i use so many different colours and to apply so many different products..
Face comes first and after moisturizing we apply foundation, concealer, powder, blush, bronzer, highlight.. ufa.. so many things we apply actually!
1- Essence Bloom me Up! Face Powder Brush
2 - ELF Professional Total Face Brush
3 - Oriflame Powder Brush
4 - Oriflame Flat Foundation Brush
5- Real Techniques Expert Face Brush
6 - Essence Bloom me Up! Blush Brush
7 - ELF Studio Powder Brush
So the first 3 brushes, as the name suggests, are made to apply powder and that's what i use them for.. My favorite is the Essence one since it's dense and soft.
The 4th brush is loved by some and hated by others, i can't decided if i hate it or love it, but i know i don't use it to apply foundation at all.. i like to apply some face paints when i create different looks.
Real Techniques is a well known brand by now and people raves about it like nobodys business but i have to admit that they are amazing! This is my only one but i find it as a staple in my makeup routine! It's good to apply foudation or powders! I sometimes use for liquid foundation other times to apply bronzer and it's amazing! Great quality bristles and lovely finish it gives to the skin!
Essence Blush Brush, as it is named is a flat kabuki brush that applys cream products really well.. i like it to apply powders too! Liquids it's not his best friend, still does a good job! Multifuncional brushes are my favorite!
ELF studio brushes are simply the best affordable brushes i ever had! I just can't say enough good things about it! This particular one can be used to apply foundation (my favorite way to use it) and also to apply powder.. your choice ;)

Sometimes i don't feel like using the brushes for the purpose of them so i change a bit..
The first one i rather use it for bronzer than blush.. personal preference! I have to tell you that these Claire's brushes are amazing quality!! i washed them so many times and they still good looking and don't loose bristles at all!
The Avon brush i use to apply blush or bronzer, it deppends on my mood.. but i find it good quality one.
Small Tapered Brush i use to apply highlighter most of the times but i also use it to make my contour look heavy!
Mineral Powder brush is a small brush to apply powder all over the face so i usually use it to set my under eye makeup or to contour as well.
Eye brushes are important if you want to create more professional looks.. If you're starting i recommend having eyeshadow and blending brush, if you like to wear gel eyeliner a brush for eyeliner is also need!
You have plently of choices on the market! You can buy kits or individual brushes.. some affordable good quality ones and some more expensive ..
You build your makeup collection so you choose what kind of brushes you want to have!
1 - Claire's Eyeliner Brush
2- Catrice Eyeliner Brush
3 &5 - Essence Blending Brush
4 - UBU no 36 Smudger Brush
6 - Essence Eyebrow Brush
7 - ELF Angle Contour Brush
8 - Oriflame Blending Brush
The name of the brushes tells everything about them! The only thing i have to add is that sometimes i use no 7 to contour my nose.. it's small yet dense brush and does the job really well...
I'm also hunting for another blending brush, any suggestions?!
As i said not too long ago, eyeshadow brushes are a staple! You can always use your fingers which is fine and works better sometimes, deppending on the eyeshadow.. in general i prefer to use flat fluffy brushes!
1 - ELF Eyeshadow 'C' Brush
2 - H&M Eyeshadow Brush
3 - Essence Bloom me Up! Flat Big Eyeshadow Brush
4 - Essence Bloom me Up! Flat Small Eyeshadow Brush
5 - Claire's Small Flat Brush
6 - Claire's Big Flat Brush
7 - ELF Professional Smudge Brush
8 & 9 - Essence Eyeshadow Brush
I have this ammount of brushes and i still think i need more.. let me clear.. I'm a bit lazy when it takes to wash my brushes.. it's just not fun although it's really necessary! So instead of always washing them i have more than 1 brush for the same purpose so i can use the same shape brush at least with 2 different colours.. if you know what i mean..
Last but not least i have 2 more brushes ! The first one is a lip brush that i find really handy to travel with! It's a lip brush and have amazing quality as the other studio brushes by ELF..
The last brush in this collection is a Brow and Lash Brush, sadly or not i rarely use this one.. i just don't need it, yet it comes handy sometimes when my eyelashes crumps like hell.. not used everyday yet necessary!
So this is my makeup brush collection, since i have so many others to paint!
Tip: You can always buy Watercolour brushes and use them to apply makeup! They're soft and do a good job, i don't promise they're less pricey but i know for my own experience that they work really well!

Happy Friday!!
There's times that we need to adapt the look to the occasion and if we don't have a lot of time we can always change the lipstick! ;)
One of my favorite combinations is brown eyeshadow and orange toned lipsticks.. i just think they go so perfectly together.. For this new season it's specially appropriate..
Orange always remembers me of flowers and sun and freshness!!! :)
Here's the eyelook, a simple brown eyeshadow look and a winged black liner plus loads of mascara.
I love to wear this look on daily basis, is simple and quick..
Goes well with every outfit in every occasion!
As i said previously we don't always have the time to change the entire look if we need to go out somewhere and look a bit different so here's my suggestions of lipsticks to wear on different occasions.
Well, BROWN GOES WITH EVERYTHING ;)
To start off, a baby pink is natural looking yet wearable for a night out. Gives a simple look and fresh face.. reminds me of sweetness..
A red glamorous lip is always an alternative for a night out or even a day event ..
Red and Brown goes really well together and shines power, independence and self-confidence.
Although this looks orange, it's more like a neon coral pink lip stain.. it shows youth and wildness.. Everyone's eyes will be on you and you don't even need a strong eye makeup for that.
Metalic lipsticks are the best at night, they can reflect the lights and make you shine! This red/orangie toned lip perspires warmth, it reminds me of a scorching savannah..
If you're looking for a discreete look i suggest you a taupe nude.. This lipstick has the most beautiful colour and it suits every occasion.. It could look unappropriated since taupe and brown are similar colours but i think it makes a good marriage!
(lf-r)
ELF Lip Stain - Fashionista
Essence Matt Lipgloss - 06 Soft Nude
Catrice Ultimate Colour - 130 Frozen Rose
Basic matt lip gloss - Matt Salmon
Catrice Ultimate Colour - 050 Princess Peach
Avon Colortrend - Melon Drama
In total i give you 6 lip suggestions to go with a brown/nude eye look! I hope one of this can suits your taste ;)
Which lipstick would you choose to wear?!
Thanks for reading,
Hey hey hey beauties!!
Brows are the frame of the face, everyone knows that.. And to get some decent brows i have to use makeup..
My brows are not that bad without filling them but i still prefer them when i use the products bellow ;)
You have such large ammount of brow products out there, brands are doing they're own pencils, powders, and those of kind..
More and more brows are a part of many girls makeup routine and every girl has a favorite methode.. I do prefer to use the brow pencil to line and fill them on daily basis.
In more different occasions i prefer to use powders so i get more defined eyebrows!
The gel seals them for the entire day which is perfect!
And the flesh tone pencil is made to highlight the arch of the brow.
So the products i have in my collection are:
Catrice EyeBrow Stylist in 020 Date with Ash-ton
Essence Eyebrow Kit in 01 Natural Brunette Style
Wet Gloss Lash & Brow Clear Mascara
Eyebrow Lifter in 010 Lift Me up, Scotty!
So these products are made for different purposes as you may know and i love all of them.. But i also want to know better the brow market and find other products to complete my collection and help me to take the best of my real eyebrows!
Which products do you recommend using on eyebrows?!

Golden Dusty
Hi sweethearts,
I've been a bit busy with preparatives for the International Festival of Chocolate in Obidos, where my school is going to participate. I'll make a post in the future about it ;)
I love to play with makeup, start with some colours and end up with a look.. For todays post i have a goldish smocky look..
I used the 32 eyeshadow palette from ELF in Natural :
On the inner corner i used a sparkly light gold
All over the lid an old gold with some sparkle
To smoke out the look i used a deep brown with grey undertones
Waterline - Catrice Made to Stay Inside Highlighter Pen in 010 In the Mood for Nude
Catrice Glamour Doll Volume Mascara
This look seems to be a good option for a night out and it's easy to get.
I try not to use eyeliner in all the looks i create so i give the option to my lovely readers that don't feel confortable with eyeliner on to try the looks as well.
Anytime soon i plan on doing makeup tutorials tell me if you find them useful or not..
The looks will always be published in the blog with all the information, as always, i just thought it would make it easier to you if you want to try the looks !
Thanks for reading,
Good morning sunshines!
February came to an end, as it's usual in blogosphere the beauty bloggers share their month favorite products with the readers and as i couldn't pass this anymore i am also sharing with you the winners of the past 28 days.
Since my school doesn't allow colourful makeup i have to opt for some neutral looks.. and with that i found myself only applying concealer and powder instead of a foundation.. neutral eyes and soft lipstick!
My favorite concealer and most reached this month was Kiko Makeup Milano (review here) and the powder everyone raves about is the Stay Matte by Rimmel.
Brows are an important step in your makeup routine, they're the frame of a beautiful canvas so you have to work on them in order to make your makeup look good.
I'm still searching for brow products but at the moment i have the Catrice Eye Brow Stylist in 020 Date with Ashton and the Elf Brow Gel. Both good products, the gel holds the brows in place all day long.
It's not a secret that eyes are my favorite part to play around, i love the way you can change completely your face only by using different colours or different way to apply eyeliner..
The palette that won this month battle was Sleek i-Divine in Storm for the neutral yet shiny colours and for the quality that's recognized by beauty lovers.
My most worn mascara was Catrice Glamour Doll Volume Mascara, it seperates the lashes and give them some length.. It doesn't smudge through the day and the formula dries quite fast. Thumbs up for this one!
And lastly on the eyes i used my holy grail eyeliner by Essence (review here) and also the Catrice Made to Stay Inside Eye Highlighter Pen (such a long name) for a neutral waterline.
Last but not least on my lips i found myself always turning my hand to the Catrice Ultimate Colour in 130 Frozen Rose, a gorgeous baby pink, creamy and confortable to use on daily basis.
Which products were your favorite in the past month?! Any recommendations?! Tell me bellow ;)

Hey hey hey , how are you? I hope you're right!!
Today's post is about brands as you already know :)
My first one was about Restyle and my second one was about Kiko Makeup Milano.
To the 3rd post i chose ELF, in Portugal we don't have a store, we can although place orders online at the ELF site or some stores that sell it here (Neon Cosmetics ; Lojinha da Janina )
ELF is a brand created by American celebrity and beauty professional Scott-Vincent Borba and it's on the market since 2004 with the mission to provide customers with quality cosmetics at low prices.
They have 3 different lines of makeup :Essentials, Studio and Mineral.
The Essentials line have the cheaper prices all round 1£/1.50£
The Studio line have prices between 3£/3.75£ - 7£
The Mineral line 3£/5£/7£
You pay the price for the things you get, i have products from the Essential and Studio lines and yes i see the difference between them.. It doesn't mean that the cheaper is bad it means that the others are better quality..
I don't have anything from the Mineral line but i'm sure you pay different prices because the products are different, they have different ingredients..
For what i have i can tell you it's a good brand, with great quality products for the price you pay.
I have a palette and i love it! the shadows are amazing and pigmented, i did an entire post about it with some looks here .
I also have brushes , 2 from the essentials line and about 6 from the studio line .. yes there's a difference between them and it's not only the price! I also have lip products.
In general i really like ELF they have amazing quality products for the price and they also have great sales during the entire year!!
Now they have this 70% off at the sale section and also 25% off at the non sale items! You have to check it out!
